Flex Developer – Foreign Exchange Main Function The department’s main function is to build the risk platform for the FX derivatives business. This includes technical architecture, in-house development, integration of 3rd party platforms, integration and interface with other bank support systems and business as usual activities such as maintenance and 3rd line support. The emphasis of build is on analytical pre-trade pricing solutions for the complex derivatives and the subsequent booking and risk management of trades. Particular attention is given to build robust, maintainable, scalable and extensible technology. In addition to directly supporting trading activities, other functions include capacity planning, disaster recovery, meeting various regulatory activities around reporting. Main Duties My client has a stable population of Flex trades pricing on a Data Synapse grid. analytics are also used in the Murex VolAPI. The role on offer will be a combination of development and consultancy work as we migrate some of these products to an in-house risk system. Typical duties will include: Acting as primary point of contact for the desk (traders and trader assistants) on questions relating to pricing and life-cycling of Flex trades. Analysis, Design, Configuration, Development and Testing of Murex Flex related functionality for ‘Build the Bank’ projects and production of any related documentation. This will cover the flex libraries themselves, but also related reporting functions. Working directly with the in-house build team to ensure appropriate functionality is retained through migration; specifically this will relate to understanding the interaction between the flex libraries and Murex in the production of complex risk matrices and reports (eg Theta reporting) Working directly with the Market Data team on updates to the VolAPI.
